Most keyboard effect units and some other electronic accessories have a DC socket which enables them to be plugged into a wall power socket via a power adaptor to save on batteries. It is important to ensure the correct power adaptor is used in order to avoid damaging your equipment.
Does your unit operate on AC or DC power? Voltage, mA rating and plug polarity must be correct, your operating manual usually contains this information.
Should you be using a regulated adaptor? - rule of thumb: most keyboards will operate with an un-regulated adaptor, whilst most effect units require a regulated source.
